Humble Servant

Jesus’ Last Supper was a meal His closest followers would never forget. He humbly served His disciples and washed their feet. Jesus did this act of service as a man who was completely secure in His identity. He knew He was God (John 13:3), yet He took the time to do a servant’s task for those He loved.

Reflection:

You are God’s child. You are powerful. You have authority in His name. So today, use what God has given you to benefit and serve others, and you will be blessed.

You know when I think of power and authority I think of bold acts and have been watching for that opportunity this past week. But yesterday I realized I've already been walking in it all week--my power and authority comes as a mother. I am blessed to nurture my children's gifts. It's definitely humbling but it's also my platform of power and authority to pray the scary prayers, war for the destinies of my children and speak God's heart over them.

So true pearl.

Jesus washing the feet speaks to me of service. That true leadership is service. In one of Kahu's visitor bulletins he said that the leaders of Calvary could be identified by those who served. I think that is so true. Thank you JG for serving!

The other thing that stood out to me was Jesus' comment about loving one another. That we would be known by our love for each other. This also I have seen so wonderfully displayed among our group-love for each other, love for our church family, etc.
